Vacation Style: American Road Trip

I’ll never forget the summer I moved out to California because I packed up my car and drove the whole way.  That’s driving from South Florida mind you, so I crossed the entire southern US to get there!  I was 20 years old and lucky to have my fabulous mother accompany me for the trip.  Since it was such a long drive, we made it into a fun vacation, stopping every night in a different city.  My hands-down favorite was San Antonio.  It was halfway through our trip and we stayed for two nights so we’d have more time to chill out and explore.  We drank margaritas on the river, visited The Alamo, and (of course) hit the shops at the local mall.  Somewhere along the way I wound up with food poisoning, so by the time we pulled up in LA I was pretty sick, but I didn’t even care because I had so much fun.  One thing I do remember, because we were driving in July, is that it was deathly hot.  Whether the humid swamp heat of the southeast or the dry desert heat of the southwest, I was happy to have casual lightweight clothes for the drive.  Here are my top picks for a summer road trip wardrobe, including a pretty boho romper, simple red tank, and classic denim shorts.  Not to mention the cutest espadrilles ever!

Don’t forget to check back on Thursday for our next destination!  Xoxo, Luisa
