Three Ways To Wear: The Nude Sandal

With spring upon us and summer fast approaching, I wanted to cover one of the most popular warm weather shoe options – the nude sandal. This strappy variation of the nude pump offers up a similar benefit with its sleek, sexy, leg-lengthening effect. For now, forget your stilettos, because chunky block heels are all the rage. The silhouette has been modernized and there are tons of fabulous fresh styles to choose from. Personally, I adore the Sam Edelman ‘Yasmine’ sandal.  The clean lines and universally flattering shade make it a top pick in my book, not to mention the heel is the perfect height and the shoe looks fairly comfy (i.e. walkable).  So let’s talk about versatility, because this shoe has tremendous potential to ensure you get your money’s worth…

Three Ways To Wear: Nude Sandal

1. Office Chic: Since the sandal is borderline casual, I would wear it with slacks at the office to seamlessly complement the shoe rather than draw attention. A mixed neutrals look is the perfect pairing. It’s modern and fun for spring, but still conservative for the workplace. There are no rules against mixing black, brown gray, etc…on the contrary, all these colors play well together! Just don’t go overboard, and keep your accessories simple. A classic satchel bag and elegant stud earrings are the office appropriate choice.

2. Weekend Casual: I love the idea of pairing this sandal with distressed denim shorts for a casual ensemble. Add a bit of feminine flair with a silky blouse (blush is still majorly trending!) and opt for a structured bag in an colorful spring hue. A hint of sparkle with your accessories will add interest and tie the look together for a perfect weekend chic outfit.

3. Date Night: Instead of wearing black sandals with your LBD, try nude! For spring/summer opt for an LBD with a twist, for example one that features a bright floral print. The nude shoe will lengthen your legs and complement the shorter dress style. For date night, feel free to glam up your accessories with a dramatic necklace and cuff bracelet. Carry a clutch bag in a pop of color and don’t forget to amp it up with a bold lip.

So what do think of the ‘Yasmine’ sandal? Love it as much as I do? Sound off in the comments!
