Darlings, I am going to get a haircut today at Andrew James Salon in Cupertino (it is the one right around the corner from Apple HQ). I am boldly going back to bangs. I love this cut on Kate Moss.

A couple of months ago I stopped a woman in a cafe, because I couldn’t help but ogle at her sandals and had to know where she got them.

Lusting over this black star necklace from Sara Bath Goldfine. A serious steal for $300. It is from her Dusk Collection. “Swarovski Crystal Charms on 14K Gold-filled Chain. This piece can be worn as a two strand or long single strand necklace with or without the charms.” Simply GORGEOUS!
Just the other day, one of my dearest friends asked for my help. She had just read Tim Gunn’s Top 10 Essentials and was wondering if I could translate them for her with a “less urban” take.
Hey, I thought I was precious T. Well, inside joke; you can just call me plain ol’ T. All kidding aside, let’s talk Precious T’s (otherwise known as designer Thea Izzi) funky urban jewels as seen on Flicker. My first reaction was hmmmm, tres urban. Turns out, that is the designer’s word for it as well. One part ‘80’s era Madonna, one part modern sculpture, these mixed medium jewels of rubber, metal and semi-precious stones are strong but fun city jewels. Additionally, they pack a style punch without punching a large hole in your wallet. While not my personal aesthetic, …
The inspiration for this week’s missive came not from heaven, but from Saks Fifth Avenue, and that’s pretty close. The Saks team sent out a creative little email this week showing celebrity style; a “wear it like they wear it” list of suggestions for dresses, jackets, pants, skirts and accessories inspired by the style of some of our favorite clothes horses: SJP (of course), Rihanna, Brooke Shields (a bit of a stretch if you ask me), supermodel Agyness Deyn… the list goes on. I took a closer look at the Angelina Jolie section and found all sorts of suggestions that …
Darlings, I am heading to my favorite flea market this weekend, the Alameda Point Antiques Fair. I usually rate my flea markets on the “flea scale.” That is, the lowest rating for the gathering under the bridge where one might actually find said bugs, to a high score for a market like the Rose Bowl in Pasadena or the Alameda, where you may find everything from vintage cowboy boots to Edwardian diamonds. Score! I am looking forward to this Sunday for a few reasons. First, I get a little uninterrupted time with the girls. For most, this ain’t really a …
I know Urban Darling Tanya spoke of Michelle Obama’s Inaugural Day attire already, but I have Obama fever so I can’t help but continue the love and share a couple of my Michelle favorites. The days leading up to the “Big Day”, The First Lady did not disappoint. The gorgeous camel and black ensemble from Narciso Rodriguez exuded elegance and beauty. My jaw dropped when I saw her walk down the Lincoln Memorial steps in this creation. On the night of the “Kids Inaugural” concert Michelle showed us that mom could dress cool and stylish while still being affordable. Her …
