Toute La Nuit for “My Real Style” Giveaway

If you haven’t already heard by now, Urban Darling is doing a ”My Real Style” Giveaway. There are only a couple more days to sign up. Don’t miss $500 in cash, amazing giveaways, and a chance to work with our team of stylists!

One exciting brand has donated some sexy animal print panties. Karen Judge, owner and designer of Toute La Nuit was kind enough to invite me her studio here in San Francisco and I had to take pictures and share the goods!

Toute la Nuit was created in 2008 with the concept that loungewear be made feminine, romantic, yet sophisticated. Karen’s vision was to create a line that made women feel comfortable enough to go to bed in, but also provide a style you wouldn’t mind walking around the house in front of other people in. The cute way she describes it is “Bed to Breakfast.” What’s also wonderful about her brand is it’s produced right her in the U.S of A! The SOMA district to be exact. The collection and the designer are quite lovely and the ladies of the Bay Area and around the world should know, it’s definitely worth supporting! Check out the shots below and don’t forget to sign up for the style give away here!

“Booty Boosters”

I know most women won’t admit to having a pair of booty boosters in their undergarment collection. So my question is this: do you know of someone who feels the need to wear them? Is it just me or is the the booty booster another way for the industry to nit pick at a woman’s body? The product assumes a woman is misfortunate when it comes to her figure and she needs help – so give it a boost, right? Think about it. Bras with triple the padding have somehow become a norm. It  doesn’t surprise me that the boom in breast enhancements have continued to impact women, and it has me wondering if padded products are the gateway to plastic surgery? There’s not one woman who doesn’t know of a woman, or two or three that have gone through breast enhancements. I’m not for or against it, having known women who lost their breasts completely during the breast-feeding stages. So I get it.

It’s got me thinking; will these “booty boosters” be the next trend for women going under the knife? Let’s be honest, those enhancement are catching on like wildfire. Will this one-day be the norm, eventually? Will there ever be a day when a woman is happy with just what is, or should I say be comfortable enough to just except it without letting it consume her emotional being? I heard it from my best friend yesterday; “Well you have it so you don’t get it.” I may not fully get it, but when it comes to breasts, I have MASSIVE limitations with what brands I get to wear. The grass is not greener on the other side. It’s the age old saying, “we want what we can’t have.” Although we can have it, just with risks involved, not only physically but also emotionally. What I do know above all else, is no amount of fixing on my body will ever make me feel whole. That my friend, is a choice.

Do you agree with how Spanx describes their “booty booster” as “oh no”, “oh wow”? It offends me.

What’s your nude?

Companies are coming out of the wood works dedicating shades of “nudes” that accommodate more than one complexion. Brands like Being U and True Intimates, to name a few. I have to be honest, for me, it hasn’t been something I ever felt a need for. But when I really think about it, it would be nice if a “nude” bra strap was showing on my skin and was more camouflaged. However, I think to myself: how often do I wear nude bras? Rarely. Now, they’d have me hooked if there was a nude my shade that was sheer! Besides, I match my undergarments based on my mood and what compliments my outfit! But I’m currently the minority with that mentality. Fingers crossed - not for long. However, tons of women live in nude bras and it has me thinking. Is this heaven sent or a thought you’ve never paid to much attention to? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Spring Begins…

Spring is here and it’s the perfect time to revamp those New Year’s resolutions; which by now, for some, may have lost steam and already faded. Don’t feel bad. I’m almost positive you aren’t the only one. For me, I’ll be revamping my professional goal direction and will continue to try and keep a positive and calm mind, even when everything else around me continues taking crazy twists and turns. Also, sitting in the back of my mind is the thoughts of summer, and swimsuit season. Are you prepared? I’m not either. But, I plan to be and I’m already being proactive about it. I’ve started taking this all-natural supplement for my body, which I won’t speak about until I see how my body responds. All I know is I’m eating healthy and working out, and feeling quite good, to say the least. Which leads me to my last spring goal, which is to have a body I love more than I already do. Is that possible? Anything’s possible!

Besides my new goals, I can’t help but notice the entire wonderful ready-to-wear trends hitting the store shelves and window displays. They’ve inspired me to create some fun visuals for my ladies. If you’re inspired from reading my blog, maybe a goal of yours is to create an undergarment collection just as exciting as your wardrobe. If it is, here are some fun ways to integrate Spring/Summer trends with your intimates. Creating a look integrated with your foundation pieces that will literally have you feeling like the hottest chick on the planet! Enjoy!

Do small busts have a disadvantage?

Last week I went personal shopping with my girlfriend. Previously, she had written me, telling me she loved my blogs and had some questions. She said she loved the thought of wearing sheer, lacy, sexy bras, but it wasn’t realistic for her. She felt her small breasts would get lost if she didn’t wear anything padded. [Read more...]

2012 AW Lingerie Observations

My trip to New York for the Curve expo was fabulous. Still sad it’s over, but at least I get to share all of my observations from the show with all of you and reminisce. My first day started with catching the M42 off of First Avenue. I walked into the Jacob Javitz Convention Center, and when I got there all I could see were isles of exhibitors showing off their fall AW lingerie collections. One thing was evident; the designers seemed to have shared common colors, patterns and cuts, for the fall, each putting their unique spin on it. Below are my observations simplified and broken down for you. [Read more...]

Look thinner & stylish…

I know shape wear has the ability to make us look awesomely thinner than we are. Being the lingerista that I am, I feel like shapers really boosts our self esteem with clothing on, but for the ladies that love to look gorgeous under their clothes, it’s visually unappealing. [Read more...]
