REVAMP THE RUNWAY 2015- DALLAS CHARITY FASHION SHOW RECAP
A few blogs ago, I posted my involvement with coordinating a local Charity Fashion Show. With much work and effort…. last night was the show and it was a success!!! I am excited to share with you photos of all the elements that we focused on to put this fashion show together to raise funds for Peace After the Storm, a local Dallas non-profit organization who provides emotional and spiritual services to those couples or women who suffer post abortion. Although a touchy subject, there are not many organizations out there who are dedicated to support a cause that is very controversial and leave so many without help. We are very lucky to have Peace After the Storm serve our local community! Overall, we had a lot of fun while raising money for a worthy cause. Look for more photos with #revamptherunway !
The Venue & Decor (Setting Up)
The location was a huge upgrade from last year’s location. This year the show took place in Downtown Dallas at The Magnolia Hotel . The Venue took up the ENTIRE 3rd floor!!! The elevator opened up to the 3rd floor where guests were welcomed to walk our vendors; Jamberry Nails, Trendy Things Jewelry, Mary Kay, Traci Lynn Jewelry, Cream and Candle Business, Younique, It Works!, La-Zay Faire Boutique, and reINvinty Fresh.
Candles were lit during the show
Black and White Glam Bags
Hair & Make-Up
Paul Mitchell The School from Arlington, TX participated in providing the hair and make-up for our models as well as ourselves; the fashion show team. They did a FABULOUS job!
Me getting my make up done!
We had 3 performers who provided vocals, choreography or both. It was great to showcase local talent and they did an EXCELLENT job!
We started off with 12 models and ended up with 10. Nonetheless, they were 10 good, quality models! Very polite and well mannered. Being that I over saw the models to make sure their walks, posture, timing and overall look was near perfect… these were the group of girls I spent the most time with during the day. It was such a pleasure meeting these girls and witnessing their talent.
The best part about being in this team is the different strengths that we each brought to the table. My weaknesses were one of these ladies strengths, and vice versus. They are a wonderful group of strong women to work with and I am wishing for many more years of future fashion shows to work together!
We had 22 volunteers that helped out before the show, during, and after (clean up crew). About 200+ attended last night’s event, and we raised approximately $2,000 for Post-Abortion Trauma Services!! It was so much fun being a part of this event to give back to my local community, and meeting new people in the fashion business. Afterall, giving back is ALWAYS in style!!!
