MAD FOR MOD
Tokyo Gamine, a brand new San Francisco fashion label, (see my recent interview with designer Yuka Uehara) is channeling the ’60s in the best way possible with a color block A-line dress with a Peter Pan collar in foam cotton.
How clever of her to place the color blocking on the back of the dress! A visual punch that, I think, makes the dress more versatile, and less predictable. Over-the-knee-boots (in an nod to go-go boots) lend a nonchalant ease, and temper the shorter length of the dress.
For jewelry, I chose the more glam route, with Karl Lagerfeld shoulder dusters in gold tone and Lucite and rhinestone and enamel panther bracelets. How would you style a Mod look? Please share in the comments.
